Visit the Log House Museum
The Log House Museum is a City of Seattle Historic Landmark and is located one block from Alki Beach Park, known to Coast Salish people as sbaqʷabqs or Prairie Point. It was built as an outbuilding to the Historic Fir Lodge (Alki Homestead Restaurant) in 1903-1904. Today, it is the home of the Southwest Seattle Historical Society. Read more here.
Hours: Fridays and Saturdays, 12 to 4pm.
Admission: The museum offers free admission. A suggested donation of $5 is encouraged and gladly accepted.
Directions: The Log House Museum is located one block from Alki Beach. Street parking only. Accessible by King County Metro Bus Lines #50, #773, or #775.
Schedule a Tour
Schedule a private tour with your student or community group. Learn about the history of the Log House Museum and Alki Beach, including the history of Seattle's first colonial settlement established at Alki Beach in 1851. Tours are one hour in length and include a half hour walking tour to landmarks and sites of historic significance at Alki Beach.
Group tours are $3 per student/person (chaperones, one per every ten students, receive free admission. Minimum tour fee is $50). Fee waivers may be available.

The Log House Museum, a City of Seattle Historic Landmark built in 1904, is located one block from the popular regional attraction of Alki Beach, known to Coast Salish people as sbaqʷabqs or Prairie Point, and is within walking distance of several businesses and restaurants, Metro Transit and Water Taxi Shuttle Stops, and historic and cultural sites. The Log House Museum features a wrap around porch, exposed old growth logs, a native plant garden, and a courtyard.
